Railway axle box washing machine

The freight wagon axle box housing washing machine is a high-performance continuous (tunnel-type) washing line designed for efficient cleaning of axle box housings and axle box assembly components (in baskets) from dirt, grease (buksol), oil, and other contaminants.

Washing is performed using a hot cleaning solution, followed by rinsing with warm water and blowing with hot air for complete drying of the parts.

Key Advantages

  • Fully automated washing, rinsing, and drying process
  • Closed-loop circulation system of the cleaning solution with automatic oil separation (floating skimmer)
  • High productivity — up to 40 axle box housings per hour
  • Made of stainless steel with high-quality thermal insulation
  • Adjustable conveyor speed and solution temperature (35–95 °C)
  • Easy maintenance and minimal operating costs

Design and Operating Principle

The machine is a conveyor line along which axle box housings and components in baskets pass through three main zones:

  1. Main washing zone — intensive cleaning and degreasing with a hot solution through a system of nozzles.
  2. Spray rinsing zone — washing with clean warm water.
  3. Drying zone — powerful hot air blowing.

The system automatically maintains the level, temperature, and cleanliness of the solution. Control is carried out via a modern programmable logic controller (PLC) with automatic and manual operation modes, as well as a daily heating timer function.
