The universal shot blasting chamber consists of a working chamber, a transport system, the system of shot circulation, the air ventilation system, electrical equipment and a metal structure.
The shot blasting chamber cleans work-pieces and has a closed metal construction covered inside with rubber and metal sheets as a protection. There are 3 shotblasters. The work-pieces are transported into the chamber through the double-leaf gate which are closed by limit switches on pneumatic cylinders. The gate is opened by a pneumatic drive.
The transport system brings the work-pieces into the chamber and takes them out after the cleaning. The system has a winch, a pulley block hoist, a truck and a tow-bar.
The truck movement on rails is carried out by a traction force of the winch, the pulley block hoist directs the traction element.
The truck is a frame on 4 wheels which carries a revolving platform rotating vertically with turn of 360º. To couple the truck with an electromechanical rotating drive mouted at the rear chamber wall there is a claw clutch connected to the driving-wheel of the rotating system. The truck outer face is protected by a housing made of a conveyer belt. The truck limit positions are controlled by limit switches.
The system of shot circulation collects shots, separates it and direct back to the shot-blasters. The system of shot circulation consists of a screw conveyor, an elevator, a separator, a hopper and a shot trap.
The hopper ensures an undisturbed operation of shotblasters. There is a net
in the system of shot circulation to prevent big restrictions to come in it.
The screw conveyor brings the mixture of dust and shots to the elevator and consists of a welded endless screw mounted on bearing supports of the drive.
The bucket belt elevator with centrifugal discharge is intended to transport the shot and dust mixture In the separator vertically. Used shots fall through chamber hopper into the elevator.
The separator separates the shots from dust and other restrictions. The separator type is pneumo-mechanical. The shot and dust mixture comes into the separator through the bin hopper and is moved by the endless screw along the housing. Then the shot goes to the blowing area where the air stream takes away dust and small particles, and the cleaned shot comes into the hopper.
The shot separator ensures that the clean shot caught by air falls down and then
catches shots which are brought into the chamber.
Air ventilation system consists of 3 whirlers, a filter unit, a fan, airways and provides the suction of dirty air out of the shot blasting chamber, its cleansing. The whirlers takes out rough dust particles and the filter unit ensures a fine air cleansing.
The filter unit consists of an upper and a lower sections which are made of rolled ferrous metal. In the upper part there are 16 filter cartridges and a system which shakes the cartridges removing the dust by pressed air pulse. The dust falls from the cartridge into the hopper, but the cleansing process continues. The cartridges are regenerated by dried and cleaned pressed air with pressure of 0,4...0,6 MPa. There is an air preparation unit at the filter unit to clean air and regulate its pressure. To make the maintenance convenient there are hatches with removable covers. In the power section there are air collecting hoppers.
Principle of operation. The workpieces to be cleaned
or strengthened are placed on the truck rotating table and
moved into the chamber. After the doors are closed the
cleaning begins automatically. The cleaning time is
calculated by experiments and can vary 1 to 5 min.
